Glossary of Screen Filter Terms

Anti-Glare: These filters reduce glare and reflections from nearby light sources by 99 percent, improving readability and contrast.

Anti-Radiation: Additional conductive coatings help eliminate ELF/VLF E-field radiation by dissipating it through a grounding wire. This reduces static electricity around your monitor, discouraging dust buildup and decreasing risk of data loss.

ELF/VLF E-fields: Electromagnetic radiation produced by computer monitors, commonly measured as Extra and Very Low Frequency.

Static Electricity: Accumulation of an electrical charge that can attract dust to the monitor screen and increase risk of data loss.

AOA Approved: Indicates a monitor screen filter has passed the strict standards for acceptance by the American Optometric Association.

Contoured Frame: Flat glass filter is surrounded by a hooded frame that slips over the monitor case for a more integrated look.

Flat Frame: Flat glass filter surrounded by a universal mounting bracket, it uses non-skid rubber pads to rest the filter in front of the monitor.

Security: Limits viewing range. Anyone not directly in front of the screen sees only a blur, protecting information in a tight working environment.
